...to equip believers to lead the spirit led life
Ron and Narelle Lambert
Testimony - Steve
Steve’s family life was dysfunctional, he had a single parent upbringing.
He suffered a broken relationship, which tore his heart out.
Drug and alcohol abuse caused him to lose his job.
In Steve’s mind, that was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
He writes,
I was so desperate I did not know what to do.
I had nowhere to go, nowhere to live, and it seemed nobody cared, the only life I could envision was on the streets.
On the street, I suffered from depression, soft to hard drugs, alcohol, anti-social behavior, in and out of courts, and smoking. With depression came thoughts of suicide, thoughts of ending my life, which scared me.
The turning point came at the end of my life, the weather was 0 degrees cold, 1 blanket with holes.
I started to scream out and pray to God. God said in an audible voice,
”I choose you”.
The light at the end of the tunnel came a couple of days later with meeting Elwyn, (Unity Homes) who gave me a place to stay. With help from people who were doing Bible Study, Footprints in the Park, God became real. He gave me strength to reduce drugs because Government Programs didn’t work. It was due to God that I could deal with the drugs over a period of weeks to become clean.
The drugs went, God gave me the strength to persevere. God showed me I was an alcoholic. The tobacco- as I saw a flash of light from God, the withdrawals were taken away.
No matter what you have done, no matter how far you have fallen, God loves you and He is waiting for you to receive Him so that He can help you help yourself to overcome the challenges of life.
